FRISCO -- Joe Looney walked onto the field for Cowboys practice Wednesday wearing his own No. 73 jersey. And it was news.
"Can't I just be me today?" he quipped.
The reserve offensive lineman hadn't yet been himself, in a sense,

He taped a No. 4 to his jersey Monday acting like quarterback Dak Prescott as he took the field. Looney then wore Ezekiel Elliott's practice jersey - a tight fit for the 6-3, Looney fooled fans into thinking he was the star running back, despite standing three inches taller and nearly 90 pounds heavier.
"That was probably the funniest part," center Travis Frederick said of the successful bluff. "They're very, very different body types."

After more than a month of training camp, bumping the team's preseason to seven weeks, several players noted Wednesday how long the preseason's taking. The Cowboys opened a week early to play in the Hall of Fame game, and five games instead of the typical four.
More than a month has passed since the team deplaned in Oxnard,

Still, two preseason games remain.

"Jumbo Joe? That's a big man coming through there," he said. "That's a big man coming downhill with that offensive line."
The only person who didn't offer a positive review: head coach Jason Garrett.
