Well, there is nothing like japanese way of living https://headway.media/the-japanese-art-of-living-with-a-purpose/ as it is a well known concept already. It seems like the concept of ikigai is a perfect fit for the times we live in. As authors themselves claim, during pandemics, it appears natural to start thinking about life, purpose, and the path we walk.

This word ' ikigai' has taken a complete different meaning outside of Japan.

There is no such philosophy.

Ikigai' just means a reason to feel happy about living.

Eg: a long hot bath after a hectic day is ikigai'.

Winning a difficult competition is ikigai'.

Sauces of a child is ikigai'.
