Hello,
We went live with an IBR600 on our dental van last summer, and at the time, no 3G/4G signal boosters were available. We could have gone with a complex setup of diplexers and boosters, but Cradlepoint didn't think we'd need to.
Well, I think we might need to. As we're moving from RDP to an IPSec VPN w/ local clients some issues with speed are presenting themselves. For the most part we seem to be fine, with RSSI of -35 dBm to -55 dBm, and SINR of around 15 dB. However, in some locations we're seeing the RSSI at the lower end of that range, and the SINR between -4 dB and 4 dB. In addition to the Cradlepoint IBR600, we're using Laird TRA6927M3, NMO mount antennas from their Phantom series.
I'm by no means a wireless expert, but intuitively I'd think if we boost a noisy signal, the SINR wouldn't improve much being a ratio. But today I swapped the roof mounted antennas for the bundled Cradlepoint antennas, and both SINR and RSSI dropped. With roof antennas the RSSI was -45 dBm and SINR 2 dB. With the Cradlepoint antennas the RSSI was -60 dBm and SINR 0.6 dB.
So what do you think, would signal boosters help us in this case? If there's not enough information to judge, is there anything else I can do without spending too much money to diagnose the problem further?
Do you have any thoughts on Wilson vs Cellphone Mate?
Please help
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
