The salomon s-lab sense ultra sg sale does not have a forefoot rock plate, like many of the shoes in this test, and relies instead on the EVA cushioning to absorb blows to the foot. In the forefoot, the amount of cushioning is minimal, giving it great sensitivity for running uphill, but not a ton of protection. Paradoxically, the heel has a ton of cushioning under it, making it nicely absorptive and protective for heel-first downhill running. While this combination might sound great, it makes this shoe the least stable in our review, which we will discuss later under stability.Without a rock plate it features a very sensitive forefoot, but the stack height under the heel is huge, making it unstable and laterally tippy. The quicklace system with garage in the tongue is the quickest and easiest lacing system in our review, but the laces prove to be easy to break and not easy to fix. While the shoe is seemingly designed for wet conditions, it also doesn't drain well and getting it wet causes the insole liner to move around and scrunch up. While few would argue that these shoes are very comfortable, it is up to the individual to decide whether they match their running desires.

The salomon techamphibian 3 damen ("Techamphibian") is an excellent water shoe that doubles as a light hiking shoe and sandal. It features a synthetic mesh upper that keeps rocks and debris out and drains water quickly. Salomon describes the Techamphibian as having 5 drainage portals, but with mesh sides serving as a drainage portal, I'm not sure how Salomon arrives at this number. At any rate, water flows freely out of the shoes. The shoes have an "air-mesh" top and tongue, which are very breathable. A strip of synthetic leather with drainage holes extends down the center of the tongue to the toe bumper. For support, the heel is synthetic leather, also with drainage holes. The heel is adjustable with a buckle and strap, which adds to the personal fit, and it is also convertible, folding down so the shoes can be slipped on like sandals. The "Quickfit" Kevlar lacing allows quick tightening and loosening with one slide of the tab. The soles are sticky "Contagrip" that provide good traction.

Incorporating over 15 different kinds of Salomon patented technologies, from the outsole to the upper of the shoe, the salomon wings pro 2 damen are designed and built to comfortably embrace and protect your feet, so the last thing you have to worry about during your technical run, is your shoes. The Wings Pro 2 are neutral trail running shoes that bring great stability and comfort without sacrificing their flexibility. The QuickLace system brings a strong lace from one-pull tightening, also provides easy storage for your laces with the Lace Pocket. The SensiFit technology works to cradle the foot providing a secure and precise. The molded EVA and the footbed provide outstanding cushioning and anatomical support while the OrthoLiner sock liner combines a foam and an EVA heel cup that keeps your feet cooler and dryer.
