Hi

After canceling my AT&T DSL and switching to Comcast, I never gave any thought to my email that came via the DSL (with an ancient .sbcglobal.net domain). As of yesterday, the old emails (the primary and the sub accounts) no longer work. Much has been written on this across the Internet, with little consensus. Bottom line, I unmerged my account, and then went to log in again with one of the old sbcglobal.net emails. I got this:

You no longer have access to your AT&T Yahoo! account because your AT&T Yahoo! Internet services have been suspended. Choose Transfer information to create a new free Yahoo! account so we can transfer your existing settings and personal information such as your email messages, address book entries, and photos.

I then choose a new address and follow the directions, and after choosing my security question, I get this:

Thanks

Hello

Delete your email address
Go to Profile.
Select Contact info.
Select the Email tab.
Under Free AT&T email account, select Manage. If you don’t see that option, your email account can’t be deleted.
Next to Member ID, select Delete Account. Select OK.
Confirm that the Status at the bottom of the User Information section now reads Disabled. Your email account has been deleted.

Hello
AT&T wins the day for overall customer satisfaction, if only slightly. You should choose this ISP if you want transparent billing practices and dedicated customer service. AT&T also boasts an easy setup and installation process, which is sure to save you a host of headaches.
ok, thanks

Hi

Thank you, but I'm concerned about one thing: If I use the same outgoing server, won't that mess up me using my own email?

(I use a different domain name email address.)

Thanks
